The very best of what’s new for 2007
2007 has been a big year for new vehicle introductions, with well over 60 models redesigned, restyled or majorly updated. I’ve chosen what I think are ten of this year’s best, along with two runners-up that stood out but weren’t quite good enough to make it into the top ten. Click the photos to learn more about each individual new car and why it was chosen.

Car Insurance Savings — Commonsense Can Save You A Lot

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Who says commonsense won’t save you so much in car insurance? You might be surprised at how much you can save by just using your good sense of judgment. Let’s make things clearer with a couple of examples…

1) If you think about your car insurance premium before buying a car you’ll save a lot of money. It’s no secret that certain cars are very expensive to insure. But at the same time, you can get a comparable car that will cost you far less if you ask the right person.

2) Thinking through what you get as insurance coverage will also lower your insurance rates a great deal. Depending on how much you bought your car, certain policies or coverages will certainly be worthless. For example, if you bought your car for $15,000, is having a $25,000 collision policy going to be worthwhile? Moreover, since you know that the value will depreciate over time (And this is without subtracting the deductible you’d pay if you make a claim) does it make sense spending so much in premium that won’t benefit you in any event?.

These two examples do not suggest that you should not get expensive cars or have extensive coverage. They only underline how much you can save yourself by simply making use of your good sense of judgment.

What makes sense in one situation will be totally unwise in another. That is why you are the only one who is most equipped to make decisions as to what you think you need and what you don’t.

Back to making huge savings, I’ll round off with something else: Even if you choose options that will mean you spend more, you can still make savings if you understand the fundamentals of realizing huge savings in car insurance.

To Claim or Not To Claim

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Car insurance is an essential part of motoring – it’s a legal requirement for any driver in the UK. At the very least every driver is expected to have third party insurance that covers injuries to others (including passengers) and damage to other people’s property. A claim situation would only arise as a claim against you by a third party.

While this is the minimum amount of cover the law expects of you, it doesn’t cover very much – for example, if your car is in an accident and gets written off, you would lose the value of your car.
